Welcome Friends of Rock Creek!

Friends of Rock Creek, Inc. is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization that was established in 2008 to protect the open space in the Rock Creek neighborhoods. The Rock Creek Country Club ownership group had petitioned Washington County commissioners to remove the Open Space designation from the golf course thus opening the land to zoning changes and development.

Development would lead to:

  • Construction of high density housing
  • Loss of open space, i.e. the golf course
  • Overcrowding of schools
  • Increased traffic through the neighborhoods
  • Overburdening of Rock Creek infrastructure
